This clamp dyed scarf is inspired by the colors of Bird of Paradise blooms. We hope these colorful, kaleidoscopic accessories ring in some much needed cheer this season!
This is a very special scarf in rare 300 count handspun, handwoven fine muslin. There are very few spinners and weaver artisans in rural West Bengal who can weave this quality fine muslin. Hand spinning cotton yarns in 300 count fineness is a highly skilled heritage craft mostly practiced by women spinners called Katuni. Climate change is also a factor as spinning and weaving this kind of textile requires higher humidity, so often, artisans work in morning and evenings on finer muslins. Clamp dyed by grassroots artisans in Kutch.
🌼We hope these remind us to pause and reflect on the many skilled hands that make the 'handmade' possible. This scarf can be used as headscarf, headband, neck scarf or as a waist belt, so many styling possibilities! Mindfully designed in Ca and made ethically in India, supporting artisan communities all along the way.
